The Centerline Acoustics CA8SHW 8” Bi-Concentric Shallow Wedge is a two-way floor monitor designed to meet the need for a high-quality, high-output localized monitor where the listener is in close proximity to the speaker and the need for limited low frequency response is present.

Same dispersion characteristics as our 8” Micro Wedge, but with a tad more low end response. Our 8” Shallow Wedge Bi-Concentric driver complement produces a very smooth buttery tone with just the right amount of low frequency response to sound natural without being boomy, or harsh like a typical monitor that has big horn flare grinding your face off from 5 feet away.
Those looking for the ultimate in vocal clarity either with speech or singing will appreciate the sheer transparency, accuracy, and musical character of this monitor. Fill your stage with these babies, and the struggle with low frequency buildup from the stage will be much less if not eliminated. Feedback will be a thing of the past as well.

Other features included are NL4 Speakon connectors located on both sides of the enclosure; not two on one side or two on the back, or two on the front. Your cables will never be in the way regardless if you are daisy-chaining, or which side your floor box happens to be located.
Also, locating the connectors on the sides enables the monitor to be positioned at three different angles if desired. While a lot of other manufacturers are now designing their monitors to look like a UFO, we use shapes like “squares” and “triangles” which work great here on good ol’ planet Earth.

And for our grills, we use metal with 1/2” holes instead of the typical 1/8” or 3/16” holes everyone else uses. We found that 1/2” holes are as close to no grill at all as could be engineered. Larger holes equates to less destructive interference of the sound waves resulting in a more transparent and open sound.

Our handle pockets are just that; no ugly plate, spring loaded, or strap handles glaring out at you. You barely even notice they’re there. But when you need em’, you got em’.

The C8SHW enclosure panels are made of marine-grade plywood cut on a CNC machine, glued and stapled, then sprayed in a Textured Polyurea Coating for Sherman Tank-like construction.
Our “Plain-Jane” non-descript look is intended to disappear as much as possible on a stages, especially in churches and theatres.

Our enclosures aren’t filled with insulation to dampen standing waves. Instead, they resonate just like a fine acoustic instrument. You wouldn’t stuff your guitar with socks would you? And neither would we.

In opposition of using insulation, we developed an innovative way of controlling the effect of standing waves inside the cabinet with a clever diffusion system. Our cabinets resist the energy of the standing waves instead of trying to deaden them. Why try to fight em’?
The result is a monitor that is ALIVE with sound. (Patent Pending).

And with the glossy black grill against a textured black cabinet, along with a coordinated Centerline logo plate, it has a very black-tie persona.

A very sophisticated look indeed. Who says speakers have to look dull and boring?

Finally, esoteric materials and components aren't incorporated anywhere in the construction of the CA8SHW, so it remains cost effective. A great sounding monitor the common-man can afford, use and love.
