It also comes with Star and True-Fit sleeves in several different sizes to help you achieve the best seal and fit.
- Single balanced armature driver
- EPIC replaceable cable
- Star and True-Fit sleeves included
- MADE IN USA
The cables are quite better than the old UM1 and removable. They are still made in the USA. They are better finished and more refined than the old UM1 and the sound they produce is better. We are not sure yet if the BA drivers were entirely changed or simply tuned differently.
The "negative" profile of the new Westone UM PRO 10 Earphones makes them the most comfortable earphones tested to date. The single armature driver delivers clear sound with superb noise isolation and comfort. During our tests it was very clear that the Made in USA UM PRO 10 were destined to become one of our new best sellers. The 2 Year Warranty is guaranteed when you buy from Earphone Solutions. We felt very comfortable in naming the UM PRO 10 the new Best Earphones Under $150. The removable braided cables are of extreme high quality and the arch formed behind the back of the ear is very gentle on the skin. The Balanced Armature Driver offers one of the best details in the single driver category and for sure the best performance in this price range.
Aside from the great sound and comfort, the new UM PRO 10 offers the best noise isolation and fit in its price range, making it a favorite for frequent flyers, motorcycle riders (yes, they will fit under a full face helmet) and for active lifestyle as well.
Originally built for professional musicians they will outperform anything we tested under $150 with the iPhone as well.
iPhone use: I personally prefer to use the mic on the iPhone when I'm taking calls. The way this works is when the call comes in and you are listening to music using your UM PRO 10, the music fades out and the ring fades in. You look in the caller ID and decide to take the call by sliding the iPhone as you would however the caller's voice will come directly into your ear. Perfect sound, totally noise isolation. Ideal for noisy streets, airports, etc. When you want to speak you simply raise the iPhone to your mouth and talk. The advantage against inline microphones is that the mic on the iPhone is uni-directional isolating the background noise for the caller on the other hand. When you use an inline mic it needs to be omnidirectional (sound will be picked up from all directions because the mic is on your chest and not by your mouth) so all background noise will leak into the call. By taking the call with the earphones in you get perfect listening and perfect voice to your caller without noise. The only disadvantage of course is that it's not a hands-free operation but by far the best call quality in my opinion. You end up paying less because you don't get the inline mic but for me that is the best way to take calls using my iPhone. The other reason we love the UM PRO 10 is that it's Made in America.
