The TC20 is a cost effective general purpose omni for live sound and recording applications. It is flat across the entire "audio band" and it sounds natural. the TC20 effortlessly handles huge signals, up to 150dB SPL, while simultaneously capturing subtle detail. It has no proximity effect and no handling noise. For recording its value is obvious. In certain situations the TC20 can also be used effectively for amplification.

When you position an omni very close to a source, the inverse square law provides tremendous separation and gain before feedback. You can use the TC20 to close mike louder stationary sources like guitar amps, bass drum, and piano. A Big Band can be amplified using a pair of TC20s positioned close to the front row. An TC20 positioned beneath the bridge of a standup bass will give respectable gain before feedback and nail the sound of the instrument. Two TC20s placed within a drum kit in a jazz or folk situation is an easy way get a real sound.
