The M 300 is a studio quality miniature condenser microphone. Its frequency response is practically linear over the entire audible spectrum with a smooth treble boost rising to about 3 dB between 6 and 10 kHz. This microphone is well suited for picking up vocal and instrumental soloists. It exhibits very little coloration in its off axis pick up so sounds at any angle are lifelike.
The M 300 is designed for a wide range of applications in many differing environments. It is an excellent choice for studio applications such as music recording, radio, television broadcasting and film. It is also well suited for live performance and sound reinforcement for both professionals and semiprofessionals. Because of its excellent carioid pattern, this mike functions especially well in adverse acoustic conditions, e.g. in churches and gynasiums. The microphone's electronics use a low-noise integrated hybrid circuit with a transformer-less output amplifier. This construction technique yields a low equivalent noise level, high performance and garanteed reliability.
The M 300 has a balanced output using a standard, professional 3-pin XLR connector and standard microphone cables. Powering must be provided by a 48 V phantom power supply which conforms to the international standards for P 48, DIN 45596 and IEC 268-15. The microphone has a rich, dark bronze finish. Its 20mm body diameter fits a broad range of accessories available from many manufacturers. When using the mike for close-up vocals or speech, use the W 20 pop screen or an equivalent
