Minimum Diffraction Enclosure™ for superb imaging
The five 8030A surround monitors feature Genelec's MDE (Minimum Diffraction Enclosure) enclosure with rounded edges and a gently curved front and sides. This allows the 8030A to achieve a very smooth frequency response and superb imaging qualities with minimized cabinet edge diffraction.
Genelec's Directivity Control Waveguide™ enhances directivity
The very compact 8030A is a powerful bi-amplified nearfield monitor that features the advanced Genelec Directivity Control Waveguide (DCW). The revolutionary DCW has been further enhanced to provide extremely accurate control of the 8030A's directivity. Genelec designed this specially-shaped and very smooth surface and integrated it with the enclosure. Its area has been maximized to achieve an astoundingly flat on and off-axis frequency response. The 8030A has a wide and consistent listening window, with minimal harmful early room reflections and other colorations associated with conventional designs.
High performance reflex port design
To increase the 8030A woofer's low frequency extension and SPL capacity, Genelec designed an ingenious flow optimized reflex port. The long, curved tube maximizes airflow so the 8030A can reproduce deep bass without compression. The tube terminates with a wide flare, minimizing port noises and providing excellent bass articulation. An optimized die-cast aluminium structure with extremely durable semi-matt finish and acoustically optimized metal grilles add to the 8030A's acoustic excellence.
High audio output with low distortion
the 8030A's low distortion drivers - 5" speakers and 3/4" metal dome tweeters - are driven by the Genelec's dedicated 40-watt bass and treble amplifiers after sophisticated filtering. Magnetic shielding, overload protection circuitry and versatile room response controls are standard.
The 7060A - a subwoofer optimized for surround with the 8030A
Genelec's 7060A active subwoofer is a powerful and precise bass monitoring tool for modern 6.1 or 5.1 channel surround sound and is custom-designed to match the 8030A monitors. With its 29 Hz lower cut-off frequency, high sound pressure output capability and versatile bass management systems, the 7060A can be adapted to any low frequency monitoring situations. The 120-watt amplifier unit integrated into the 7060A's cabinet contains active crossover filters, driver overload protection circuits and power amplifiers. The built-in bass management unit has six signal input and output channels, summed signal output connectors and LFE input equipped with a selectable 85/120 Hz lowpass filter and a 0 / +10dB LFE sensitivity switch.
Unique bass reflex cabinet optimizes subwoofer performance
The Genelec Laminar Spiral Enclosure (LSE) bass reflex cabinet is made of a sheet metal rolled into a spiral shape and clamped between thick MDF side panels. This new construction technique provides excellent laminar flow characteristics with minimal turbulence noise and enables an optimal packing of a very long reflex tube into a small space.
Versatile mounting options plus special Iso-Pod™ stand
The versatile mounting features on the 8030A include integrated rear support points for wall and floor stands plus a further 3/8" thread for mounting on the cabinet base. In addition, every Genelec 8030A monitor comes with an Iso-Pod (Isolation Positioner/Decoupler) as standard. The Iso-Pod™ is a clever mounting stand, which allows the 8030A to perform in either the vertical or horizontal position. The IsoPod also enables the acoustic axis of the monitor to be aimed at the listener, while acoustically and mechanically decoupling the monitor from the surface it is resting on.
