The System 600A reference monitor uses Tannoy's 6" Dual Concentric™ drive unit matched to two 70-Watt amplifiers and an electronic crossover.
The Dual Concentric™ drive unit offers all the advantages of phase-coherence for a wide and stable image whether mixing for two or multi-channel formats.
The 90° conical dispersion pattern reduces the effects of room boundaries and allows use of the monitor in either landscape or portrait format without any change in performance.
In addition, the use of eight cabinet panel walls improves low frequency articulation through both stiffening the cabinet and reducing internal standing waves.
Like all active systems, the System 600A benefits from the efficiencies gained by direct connection of the amplifier to the loudspeaker voice coil. Both LF and HF amplifiers offer contour switches to allow compensation for adverse room conditions. Connection is by means of balanced XLR connectors, and magnetic shielding is available as an option.
